We used this agency for our Colorado Home Study for a Haitian adoption. A Love Beyond Borders was not our placement agency for that - but did provide our home study and post-placement services. Ultimatly, they did provide the services contracted for, but it was not without a lot of perserverance on our part. We fell through the cracks in the beginning with our paperwork for our home study... and then, during the earthquake crisis in Haiti, they were completly unavailable to help us in the information we needed for our Haitian adoption because they were only working on the cases they were the actual placement agency for. In the end, we had to hire another Colorado agency to help us finalize because A Love Beyond Borders did not have the personel resouces, or was just not willing to research what needed to be done, and wanted us to hire a lawyer that quoted us $7,500 to help us finalize our adoptions. The other agency we found to help us completed the work for $600... overall, our experience with this agency was very poor - and we would not use them again. |

We used A Love Beyond Border to adopt our little 5 year old daughter from Haiti. From the beginning they were available to answer every question and there were a lot of them! We felt supported and coached every step of the journey. They provided us with clear directions, resources, training opportunities and more. They were also very patient with our very tight budget and the fund-raising we had to do all along the way to make each payment. During the earthquake they went above and beyond the call of duty. Some of the staff left their families and went to Haiti for sleepless days and nights to bring our children home from Haiti safety and did not rest until our children were placed in our arms. I consider them each personal friends and I would recommend them to everyone. Even since the adoption was finalized they have been awesome answering questions about bonding, language skills, etc. A Love Beyond Borders Rocks!!! |

I couldn't be happier with A Love Beyond Borders; I'm in the process of adopting a second child from Haiti through their agency. In 2009, I wrote to them looking for agencies that would allow single men to adopt. Stephanie T. contacted me several times after my initial email to see if I was interested in adopting a child from Haiti. Because I live and work overseas with the military, I wasn't sure if A Love Beyond Borders would be willing to work with me. With no hesitation, Stephanie, Kelly, and the rest of the staff helped me file my documentation, etc while living abroad. I was planning my trip to Haiti when the earthquake happened. It was a tense time for everyone. I made two trips from my post in Korea to Florida. On the second trip, my son was waiting for me. Even with all the chaos in Haiti, all the ladies at A Love Beyond Borders worked with me to get his paperwork, birth certificate, and other items so that he could fly back to Korea with me. Yes, the earthquake was a stressful time for everyone and definitely not something that could be planned for, but I believe all the people at the agency did a great job. I am in Korea with my son now, so it was worth it. |

I live overseas and work with the US military. A Love Beyond Borders was one of the few agencies that was willing to work with me outside the states. Stephanie, Kelly, and the rest of the team worked to make the process as painless as possible. I was contacted reguarly and updated on changes, addition, etc in Haiti. The agency worked with me financially and didn't hassle me for money. This was my second attempt at adopting a child and I really felt that A Love Beyond Borders worked for me and my son. Understandably, there was chaos when the earthquake hit Haiti; it wasn't expected. The ladies spent a great deal of their personal and professional time in Haiti and on the phones helping those of us with children in Haiti. Keep in mind that the agency was working with two different governments during a terrible disaster, but my son came home to me. Even with some glitches (which are expected), I get to see him everyday and I couldn't have done it without A Love Beyond Borders. |
