They each have worked for Child Protective Services in Texas for 27 1/2 years in progressively more responsible roles of caseworker, supervisor and Program Director (administrator). They retired from CPS in 2002. Susan and Diane began conducting home studies for domestic and international adoption as a "side business" while working at CPS in 1990, and since retirement, they have conducted home studies and Post-adoption Supervision for several hundred families who have adopted in the US, Guatemala, Russia, China, Colombia, Viet Nam, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Belarus, Belize, India, Mexico, and numerous African countries. They have expertise in developing home studies which meet all requirements for USCIS clearances (formerly INS) as well as each country's individual requirements. They also complete home study reports which meet all licensing requirements in Texas, making interstate compact compliance very smooth for families adopting in the US through an out-of-state source. During their 15+ years of completing home studies/post-adoption supervision, Susan and Diane have developed a wide variety of resources for helping individual families locate an agency which best meets their needs for adoption. They have positive on-going relationships with many agencies which provide full adoption services for domestic and international adoption in various countries. They do not work directly with birth mothers, but are committed to providing the services needed by families who may have located a birth mother but who need services of an agency to complete the adoption.
