Horrible experience. Refused to consider our family on its merits. Determined that we were "unfit" to adopt because we did not complete paperwork on an unspoken timeline. Refused to comply with their own procedures. Little help is provided and contacts were hostile and unpleasant. They appoint a social worker who is incapable of performing a homestudy, wanting to focus merely on whether paperwork is in on her unspoken schedule rather than analyze the family, engage with them and find out what they are about. Seems she could care less. They try to talk you out of adopting toddlers from countries where there are many in need of homes. Apparently the director employs her daughter in a major role. Very suspect for any organization because there isn't proper oversight where there is nepotism. |
