I had literally less than 2 minutes of contact with this agency. I am 28 years old, I have served my country, completed a masters program and am now gainfully employed and own my own home. My large and loving family is very open and excepting of my decision to be an adoptive mother. I am ready and willing to be a good mother. However, Children's Friend does not know any of these things because I was turned away for being single. Apparently CF &S is operating under the policy that being single makes a person unfit. I wonder if the children waiting to be placed would feel the same.

I agree that it is really too bad this agency will not help Single folks. This agency has obviously done a lot of good, and I commend them for that , but they only do adoptions for married couples and "partnered" same sex couples. In this day and age, you would think everyone would have gotten the word that single mothers and fathers can be excellent parents. It is truly surprising that an agency that considers itself progressive discriminates against single parents. I hope they will reconsider their policy and realize how archaic it is.
