| Agency Description | Family Counseling Services was formally incorporated in 1960 as a non-profit, non-sectarian organization, opening its doors to the public on July 5, 1961 to provide child and family services to residents of Lenawee County. It services have been expanded since then in the service of an ever increasing number of clients. After becoming as a United Way agency, joined Child and Family Services of Michigan, Inc. in 1968 and was accredited by the Council on Accreditation in 1990. At present, its many community services and programs include Individual, Marriage. & Family Counseling; Pregnancy Counseling; Foster Care & Adoption; Catherine Cobb Safe House; Domestic Violence Alternative Program; Foster Home Licensing; and Adoption Studies. |
