I was a child that was placed for adoption through Lutheran Social Services back in 1977. I would not recommend this group due to the lack of support you will have as a member of the triad later on in life. I contacted the agency almost 3 years ago seeking medical information and was given a hard time. When they finally did make contact with the woman who is listed as my so called birth mother I had one of the social workers decide that she now questions if this woman is in fact my mother. Talk about tramatic. After speaking to my family about this we decided to make another contact with the agency to get further clarification about this. I am now be treated with "kid gloves" and "they are doing this as a favor for my dad (who is now a board member)". They are not servicing the members of the adoption triad for life which is how long adoption issues last. Please prayerfully consider all of you options in the area. Adoption is a wonderful blessing that has forever been damaged in my heart and mind. |
